Coincidences and things,hmm yes indeed,I had a chance encounter with a workshy lothario on Bateman's tower the other night,he relayed the fact you, the Morris and he had met up for piscatorial endeavours,the night previously I had discovered an old newspaper clipping from the evening gazette in the depths of my desk drawer,it was the Colne School angling team 1978 , me,you, Sibbons,Andy Hellen,and others whose names escape me, memories of plum stealing,pickled onion eating contests,the Pak butchers and Wingnut the taxi driver came flooding back,it was 44 years ago,strange days indeed.
Like it was yesterday......I had a chub flyer far bank peg in practice but had a rubber band rod. (A Coleshill Classic 9 foot from Wasses),.in the match itself I got about 8oz mostly gonks and came 20th out 40. You had 23 pickled eggs I thought not onions, either way the chippy had an empty jar when we left. Spud chucking out of minibus window too. Leon Govus gave us some cracking bait to take home
I had about the same I believe,just bits and pieces,the minibus journey was something else,I think an unsuspecting Chinese chap copped a spud on the back of the head,was it Adrian Goodwin's dad providing the accommodation?
