Back to the dark side

Could have had  a cracking arvo on the yesterday but wasn't to be. Woke up to a wet, cold miserable Saturday. God I hate Saturdays.

Eventually got to the  Blue-ish Lagoon with the intention of drowning a couple of deads from the dry warmth of the Bureboy charabanc in the car park swim, cleverly named because it is  just about in the car park...

Colin the Night Raider had had the same idea though he was planning to listen to Naaaarich get done by Bolton whilst he drowned a couple of boilies.

Off to the next best car park swim by the lock and mill pound,  home to the Gentrified.

Jerome had missed a sitter up at the Macron by the time I had the rods in. An ex-Cardiff choker with dreadful corn-rows and an unerring talent for missing the unmissable. Even then he has been Naarich's top scorer for two seasons.

The Stygian gloom was pressing in but thankfully the rain had stopped. Last season sardines still looked and smelt ok and were soon sending up  two lovely oil slick flat spots in the facing chop.

A couple of taps on the right hand  margin rod and the first deliberately fished for pike of the winter was soon surging around in the clear water. Small but clean and lightly hooked.

Back in the spot and away again but too lightly hooked as it eventually spat the trebles out after feeling larger and more determined. Think this could be a productive venue.

God it gets dark early now. Still, the nights start pulling out again just before Christmas....

  1. Have we had this conversation before....you hate Saturdays ? That's about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
