I got as far as the farm pond yesterday but the rain started. Tonight I didn't even put the gear in the charabanc. Think I'll make a start on this little lot gifted by the Loafer. Classics.

The complete absence of pretension, fashion and current trends in angling has hit the mark with me and I'm currently reading through all of your stuff. Glad to read that you've joined BASS. Darling's book above is a classic. Unfortunately I joined just after he spoke at their AGM but did get to hear Chris Yates AGM talk on his new found love of bass angling.
Love the vintage / old magazines !!!! ACTUAL stories and tales in them not trying to sell you the next bit of end tackle or the latest bait.
