Might have to accept traces being twisted, not crimped soon. I can barely see to thread 20lb 7 strand through the crimp now. I cant miss the size 4 trebles though. I remember us using 10's and fretting about the slightest resistance.
It's sleeting outside so currently not enthused about loading up the charabanc. Hence trace making. If I do go it will be very local I think.
Yup, probably be me too once these are all used up. I used to use forceps to twist the tag but have an old ET twizzle stick somewhere still Still trying to find where I put my long baiting needle we used to use for pva stringers and eel baits.
A "twiddling stick" for me every time BB. My biggest issue, therefore, is not threading wire through a crimp but, instead, attempting to get a boily stop through the loop of a hair rigged bait! Old age - they certainly never taught me about this at school.
It's the eyes that get old first Dylan, glasses or not... . I use smaller boilies etc mostly and a bayonet push stop, though tiny can usually be done by feel.
I seem to have gone back to crimping after years of twisting. Not sure why. I remember using little trebles as small as #12, seemed to work alright. There again I can remember big singles and Alasticum wire.
Twisting all the way for me.
